Ramblings: I have wanted to try my hands on an anime opening sequence, I decided to do one based on my sci-fi manga E-Depth Angel. First time animating a mech turning by hand…. Ohhh! what torture!!!!!! I kept cursing while I animated it, “WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF? HOW DID THOSE JAPANESE ANIMATORS SURVIVE THIS?” After this opening anime I learned that… 1. Mechs should have 3D base…. even if the result looks 2D. (Just so there’s less pain on 2D animators) 2. Should give compositing job to Eric H. he does such a wonderful job to it, if only he has time. ;_; 3. I should have told the story more in sequence, first time MV project. 4. Angel’s hair…… one of the most time consuming things… but None, the mech I had to draw was the most evil of all.

Ramblings: It’s a short story inspired by the door that doesn’t seem to want to close itself in my house during winter. My school SVA required me to do something non-anime style, so to fullfill my professor’s request I did this 30 seconds film, and on top of that finished E-Depth Angel Trailer to go with it in the same workshop. There’s no evil element in this animation, the character’s easy and fun to animate, the squash and stretch and smearing is really really fun to animate as well. But I probably have a masochist personality, if the film doesn’t torture me, I don’t feel as much accomplishment from it. But yes, traditional cartoon is a wonderful thing to animate.

Ramblings: It's my own childhood story tale for my make believe native american tribe in 2Masters. How a tribe of people end up living on the mountain top with giant eagles. It is my first finished animation on paper and probably last. The animation final product is slightly rougher than I wanted, but as for now, I am leaving it the way it is. After this process I learned what a hassle paper is while I work on animation. The cleaning work required in paper animation is a pure time eater. The wonderful song track is provided by Agua Clara, a South American music group in NYC underground music. This was an intense film to make due to the short time I had to make it, along with other projects I had to do for school.

Logline: Jeremy writes a letter to his father to tell him about a journey, but his father has passed away, thus he tears it up in the end and send it into the wind.

Ramblings: A short based on my fantasy manga 2Masters. It was the first time for me to do a full 5 minute film working with voice actor Niel (who's been really cooperative and supportive) and sound editing, with original sound track and I encountered way too many issues just like it was my first film. Thankfully I had so many people helping out with this film volunteering to color, to ink, and doing music. It was a learning experience just like every film has been. I wanted to tell a story that is on a slower pace with animation, and now with this film... I can say slow animation is one of the most challenging type of animation there is. It's a big lesson to learn. 5-6 minute of film took a year of intense work with our small team. The most evil element in this film to animate has to be... The skull warrior who fought with Jeremy, and the painted knights on armored dragons/horse.... I wanted to try doing painterly style animation, and found out the painful way just how long it takes.
